Colin Finnerty, one of the three Duke lacrosse players declared innocent by the North Carolina attorney general today, has spoken publicly at a press conference, and among the many people he praised was blogger K.C. Johnson, "for exposing the truth." The other Duke defendants, Reade Seligmann and David Evans, have also praised Johnson. As a blogger I'm always hesitant to go too far in praising other bloggers (blog triumphalism can be annoying), but there is absolutely no doubt that Johnson's blog, Durham-in-Wonderland, was the single best source of information about what happened in that house in March of 2006 and what has happened with the case since.
Johnson isn't really a "sports blogger" the way we are here at FanHouse. But what he's done is the most important work anyone has ever done in blogging about sports. If bloggers could get Pulitzer Prizes, Johnson would.

I sympathize with the players but there's this one nagging doubt I have. What is scary is the attempt to paint these guys as absolutely innocent people.
How many college students in the US have another case pending against them? I understand that one of the accused has another serious charge against him in another court. Where there is smoke .......

Brian,
What viscious rumor are you trying to spread? What is this "serious charge in another court" you are alluding to. No mention of this on any of the blogs or even MSM. Are you a member of the gang of 88?
